From January 20th through January 22nd, RNR Custom Wheels and Tire Express franchisees gathered together at the Renaissance, Tampa Airport. Franchisees from 19 states (over 65 attendees) traveled to Tampa, as they do every January, for training, sharing, a vendor show, and their annual awards banquet.
In his opening remarks, Larry Sutton, President and Founder of RNR, encouraged participants to pull up the stakes from what has held them back in the past and head into 2014 with a new concept: Given a new vision and focus on the company’s mission, RNR can bring their services to untold numbers of new customers. From there, participants moved eagerly into discussions of this year’s hot topics: TPMS and alignments. Tuesday brought a vendor show featuring RNR’s top vendors, as well as a few new faces hoping to become RNR vendors. Owners, operators and store managers from across the country spent the morning checking out new wheels, associated products and new services being offered to RNR franchisees.
At the end of two days of training and sharing, the event closed with the RNR awards banquet, always a popular event. Twenty-nine stores were inducted into the Million Dollar Club, and three stores were inducted into the Two-Million Dollar Club. Both of these are new records for RNR. Most Improved Store was awarded to Steve Sutton and Kyle Parman for their location in Ocala, Florida, and Most Improved Franchise went to RTO veteran John Spangle, based in Houston, Texas. Franchisee of the Year went to Rental Concepts, and Rims, USA.
Twenty-six RAE (Rental Advertising Excellence) awards were handed out to our in-house marketing group of Jason Sexton, Randy Cabrera, and Alicia Hudson, as well as outside advertising partners Lisa Vail, Desiree Rivelli (Out of the Box Media) and Adam Sutton (Red Letter Studios/ Thuzi). Awards included both the in-house and agency Best of Show awards. RNR received the most RAE awards for a single company in the history of the awards, and this was the first time that a single company has ever won both divisions in Best of Show.
Larry Sutton had this to say about his team of franchisees: “We are so fortunate that we have assembled some of the most talented entrepreneurs in the country. They all share their success and we all learn from each other, which helps RNR grow and blossom into a truly great partnership and opportunity. I am humbled and grateful that these folks have chosen to fly the RNR banner over their operations.”
